Set in the heart of The Rocks, Sydney’s oldest and most storied harbour precinct, Cove Jewellery is Sydney’s dedicated showroom for authentic Australian opals, rare Argyle pink diamonds, and natural pearls. Our Cumberland Street boutique brings together more than 4,000 individually curated pieces: from Lightning Ridge black opals and Queensland boulder opals to some of the world’s most coveted pink diamonds. All available to see, touch, and compare in person, no appointment required.

Inside Our Rocks Showroom

Our showroom occupies Suite C8 on the ground floor of 200 Cumberland Street — the building known locally as The Stanford Residences, directly opposite the Shangri-La Sydney hotel. Our glass-fronted boutique is visible from the street; walk through the ground-floor entrance and you’ll find us immediately to your right.

Inside, you’ll find an unhurried, boutique experience designed around discovery. Browse our collections of black opal, boulder opal, crystal opal, and white opal jewellery at your own pace. Our team of jewellery specialists is on hand to explain the difference between opal types, discuss sourcing origins, including the storied Lightning Ridge and Coober Pedy fields, and help you find a piece that is genuinely right for you. There is no commission pressure here, and never has been.

Getting Here

• Address - C8/200 Cumberland Street, The Rocks NSW 2000. Ground floor of The Stanford Residences building, opposite Shangri-La Sydney.
• From Circular Quay - 8–10 minute walk. Head west along Alfred Street, then turn left onto Cumberland Street. Continue south past the Shangri-La hotel. Our building is on your right.
• From Wynyard Station - 10–12 minute walk. Exit on York Street, head north along George Street, then turn left onto Cumberland Street. We are on your left past the Shangri-La.
• Parking - Grosvenor Place Car Park, Harrington Street (5 min walk) | Wilson Parking, Kent Street (8 min walk) | Crown Sydney, Gloucester Walk (5 min walk). Limited metered street parking is available on Cumberland Street.
• Ferry - Circular Quay Wharf is the nearest ferry terminal, approximately 8–10 minutes on foot. All Manly, Parramatta, and Neutral Bay ferries stop here.

Australian Opal Jewellery

Our most extensive collection. We carry solid black opals from Lightning Ridge, boulder opals from Queensland’s Winton region, crystal opals, and white opals, set in gold and sterling silver across rings, pendants, earrings, and bracelets. Each piece features a solid opal (not a doublet or triplet) unless clearly stated otherwise — and our team will always tell you which you’re looking at and why it matters. 

Argyle Pink Diamonds

Argyle pink diamonds are among the rarest gemstones on earth. The Argyle mine in Western Australia, the world’s primary source — closed permanently in 2020, making every certified Argyle pink diamond a finite collectible. Cove carries a curated selection of Argyle pink diamond jewellery, each piece accompanied by provenance documentation.

Natural Pearls

A curated selection of natural pearl jewellery, including South Sea pearls and Akoya pearls, in classic and contemporary settings. Pearl jewellery makes for one of the most versatile gift purchases in our collection, and our team can guide you through quality, size, lustre, and setting options.

Expert Ring Resizing & Jewellery Repairs

Ring resizing is performed on-site at our Rocks workshop by our skilled jewellery artisans. Most resizing orders are completed within a few business days; express service is available. No appointment needed. Our showroom is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm, and walk-ins are always welcome. If you’d like dedicated time with one of our jewellery specialists for a bespoke design consultation, we recommend booking ahead via our contact page, but for browsing our opal and pink diamond collections, simply walk in.

Is parking available near Cove Jewellery in The Rocks?

Street parking on Cumberland Street is limited. We recommend the Grosvenor Place Car Park on Harrington Street (approximately 5 minutes on foot), Wilson Parking on Kent Street (8 minutes), or Crown Sydney’s car park on Gloucester Walk (5 minutes). Public transport via Circular Quay or Wynyard Station is generally the easiest option.

Can I see opals in person before purchasing?

Absolutely, and we strongly encourage it. Opal is a stone that photographs beautifully but reveals its true character only in person. The play-of-colour, depth, and brilliance of a fine black opal or boulder opal needs to be seen under different light conditions to be fully appreciated. Our showroom has a full range of opal types on display. No pressure, no rush.

Do you offer bespoke or custom jewellery design at The Rocks?

Yes. Bespoke design consultations take place at our Rocks showroom.
